Hostess has returned to shelves along side Sara Lee, Little Debbie, TastyKakes...
There are cupcake mixes, cupcake pudding flavors, and, there's nothing wrong with simple store-bought.
So take a break and grab a cupcake!!!  :)

If you didn't get enough sweets on October 18, October 19th is the third Saturday of the month...
Sweetest Day.
While originally thought to have to have started to bring candy to those that might not be able to buy it, it has become "Candy Day" for all in the US.

What type of sweets do you like?

Face Your Fears And Celebrate!

Does something really make you afraid?  People?  Speaking?  Animals?
Over 19 million American adults are afraid of something.  Public speaking and death are still the top two fears with spiders and the dark also being in the top.  Today, is the day to take charge.  Make a stand.  Turn off the lights for ten seconds, speak outloud and say "I'm not afraid."
It's Face Your Fears Day!
After doing that, celebrate because it is also National Dessert Day!

Tomorrow, let your Oscar out of the can - the garbage can, that is...
It's National Grouch Day!

Animals and Vodka...Oh My!

October 4th is both World Animal Day and Vodka Day.
Now, don't get those two mixed up.  :)

Have you thought about how many animals are on the endangered list now?  It's a very long list and both scary and sad.  From elephants to coral to frogs, there are many species now listed, and those are just in the A's.  Take a moment today to hug your pet and think about the importance of the animals.

Then, fix you a drink.  How do you take your vodka?  From screwdrivers to dew drivers to vodka tonics.  There is a vodka recipe out there for most people....if you are of age, of course.  You can go with a fruity Pink Musketeer or Sea Breeze or a tangy Lemon Drop.  Bloody Marys and Vodka 7-up are also popular.  Fix your own or go out and order.
Drink up!

What Do You Call Your Car?

It's October!  Can you believe it?!

Today is Name Your Car Day, and this isn't something to be taken lightly.

You want a name that's fun, rolls off the tongue, and something other cars will respect.  You don't want to be talking to your "snookums" at a red light and have a sleek, sports car pull up beside you.  You know that car has a cool name.

Have fun naming your car and take a nice drive to celebrate!

Good Morning!

Are you waking up to that fresh smell of coffee?

Do you hear it percolating?
Do you know what today is?

It's National Coffee Day!

About 85% of us drink coffee, and we normally drink 2-3 cups a day.  With different roasts, beans, and flavors, we like to mix things up.  You can add sweetener, milk, creamers, or even flavored creamers.  You can go out and pay anywhere from $1 to $12 for a cup.  However you take your coffee, enjoy it with a smile and know you are celebrating a holiday today!

September 23 is Going to the Dogs...as Leaders

"If you want a friend in Washington, get a dog."

Harry S. Truman had it right when he made that statement, and today they get celebrated.  September 23 is Dogs in Politics Day.  Hey, those four legged pooches work hard.  They have to stay pampered and polished and try to make their humans look good.  It often seems like an impossible task.

Dogs play an important role in making or breaking their humans image and character.  They've even had speeches named after them.  Like Franklin D. Roosevelt's "Fala Speech" where he stated, "you can criticize me, my wife and my family, but you can't criticize my little dog."
